A GROUP of friends from Melksham drove their three-wheel cars to Newquay and back earlier this month, raising over £500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The friends set off at 7.30am on Thursday 7th September and after only a few mechanical hiccups, returned to Melksham on Sunday.
Mark Birkett said, “We all made it back, just! We had a few breakdowns on the way, but we got all the cars there and back again. We have raised just over £500 so far, but donations are still coming in so we are hoping to hit £1,000 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. These cars don’t go much more than 50mph at a push and are prone to falling over. The cars are all pretty old and have been off the road for a long time, so we really didn’t know how many of us would make it all the way there or even back again without breaking down. It was a really fun trip and all for a great cause.”
