Managing director of the award-winning automotive parts distributor and retailer, Melksham Motor Spares, Phil Dodd, has been celebrating 30 years with the company!
Phil joined in June 1990 as a Saturday boy and then became a full-time employee when he left school.
Celebrations of this milestone anniversary were understandably lower key than the company had originally planned, but Phil was still surprised with a cake and a very large celebration banner.
Phil said, “With the challenges facing us all during this time, I had forgotten the date was coming up, so it was a fantastic surprise to see the banner and be presented with the cake. I can’t believe how quickly 30 years has gone!
“I would also like to thank all the MMS staff, past and present, for helping make Melksham Motor Spares such a brilliant place to work; we are a family. Thanks must go to our customers and suppliers too; I have been overwhelmed by the huge number of kind messages I have received, it means a great deal.”
Finance director, Alison Cooksaid, “We couldn’t let this fantastic achievement go by without acknowledgement. Phil has devoted so much to the company and the outpouring of good wishes and support on our social media from staff, customers and his peers, is testament to how well respected and liked Phil is.
“After 30 years, his knowledge of our industry and his commitment to MMS is second to none, I’m proud to work alongside him and look forward to the company’s success continuing with Phil at the helm for the next 30 years!”
Established in 1968, the company has grown to become one of the most prominent businesses in the area, operating from two branches in Melksham and Frome. As one of the South West’s largest independent motor factors, the company is a leader in the automotive aftermarket industry; a position recognised and honoured by their peers in 2018 by their prestigious award for ‘Distributor of the Year’ presented by the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF).
