Giant flowers will spring up at The Courts Garden in Holt this September when Jenny Pickford, one of the UK’s leading blacksmith artists, will be exhibiting her super-sized glass and steel sculptures.
Fittingly titled SuperNature, and also Jenny’s first UK solo show, the exhibition will feature 17 sculptures, including a giant agapanthus, which towers above the viewer at 4.5m tall, a 3m bluebell and some ‘smaller’ 1m flowers. Textures and materials combine to create sculptures when flower petals, made from hand blown glass, meet forged steel.
The exhibition is at The Courts Garden, a hidden National Trust garden in the centre of Holt from Saturday 5th Sept. to Sunday 18th Oct. (not Wednesdays), 11am-5.30pm.
Visitors can explore the garden and discover beautiful lawns, colourful borders, garden rooms, an orchard and an arboretum as they explore to find Jenny’s creations.
Normal admission app-lies. National Trust members and children under five are free. For more details call 01225 782875 or visit www.national trust.org.uk/courts-garden.
