RIVER Mead School has received £385,000 from the government’s ‘Condition Improvement Fund’ (CIF), to help towards an upgrade of its heating system.
River Mead’s headteacher, Karen Austin, told Melksham News, “The current heating systems are ineffective, inefficient and in some parts aged.
“We are delighted to be successful in the CIF bid this year as we will now be able to plan for some comprehensive works in 2022. These will replace pipework, boilers and heat emitters/radiators throughout the school.
“These works will save money in the longer term, whilst giving an updated, easier to fix system and an efficiently warm school!”
Additional funding for the works will come from the school.
