MELKSHAM Conservative Club’s race night has raised £5,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine appeal.
A spokesperson for the club’s committee said, “On Saturday 23rd April, Melksham Conservative Club held a charity race night to raise funds for Ukraine, and I am delighted to report that we raised £5,000. This is a fantastic amount and we would like to thank all the people who helped to organise it and attended on the night.
“We would also like to thank all the local businesses who sponsored us: Avon Protect, Corsham Building Plastics, P&L Decorators, AT & SD Lux, Boomerang Holdings, V Kanani, The Two Brewers, AJM Engineering and KA Taylor.
“Many local businesses also donated raffle prizes and we would like to thank: Casa, Gompels Pharmacy, The Kings Arms, Refa Tandoori, Lowden Garden Centre, Tops Hair & Beauty Salon, Edwards Stationary, The Toy Shop, Salon Hair & Beauty, and the Card & News Centre.
