IF you are self isolating and need help, you are not alone.
That’s the message from the local Melksham councils who have set up a scheme to support local people. Services offered include the collection of prescriptions, the delivery of food parcels and emergency top ups on electric key cards
“We are here to help and would encourage any people who are self isolating and need support to use our service” said Mayor Jon Hubbard.
“We are now doing about 80 prescription deliveries per week for example, but could do more. Indeed the system we have now means that we only have to visit each pharmacy once per day to collect all of the prescriptions so we are not only saving people having to leave their homes to collect, but reducing the pressure at the pharmacies and the chances of people queuing.
“We are now also working closely with County Hall and can also help with food parcels and emergency top ups on electric key cards etc.
“We can cope with more – there are still people who need help who have not yet asked, and we really are keen to reach out to them.”
