BLENHEIM House Care Home is running a competition for all budding artists aged 5-14 to design a ‘bee hotel’.
The bee hotels will form part of Blenheim’s Noticing Nature project, which will encourage residents to enjoy the gardens at the home and to share and create projects based on their memories of gardens and wildlife.
The care home says, “The project has been a great success and the home are looking to involve local school groups once restrictions ease. School children’s designs will be turned in to real-life bee hotels that the residents can enjoy and help wildlife prosper.”
There are prizes up for grabs, including a large toy bee, named ‘Digby the big bee’, donated by Melksham Carnival. The competition ends on 30th September, and entries can be posted to the home’s lifestyle and community lead, Chris Guest, Blenheim House Care Home, 27 Shurnhold, Bath Road, Melksham, SN12 8DD. Entries can be in any format and should be creative, bold and consider the environment,” said the care home.
