A PLANNING application has been made to convert The Bell Inn, Seend, into three dwellings.
The Grade II listed pub was closed by its owners, local brewery Wadworth, in 2016 and sold at auction in February 2019.
The building already has planning permission to become a five bedroom house. But its current owners have now submitted an application to subdivide the building – The Bell Inn and the old Brewhouse – into three, “sustainable homes whilst maintaining the integrity of the heritage asset”.
Prior to the sale of the building, the community had attempted to raise £600,000 to restore the pub back to the community asset it once was.
The public consultation is open until Thursday 1st October. A decision by Wiltshire Council is expected by Wednesday 14th October.
