HUNDREDS of football fans flocked to Melksham Town Football Club earlier this month when the Manchester City FC Trophy Tour came to town.
Visitors were given the chance to view and have their photo taken with the Premier League Trophy, Carabao Cup and the FA Community Shield.
The event was organised by the Manchester City Supporters Club’s Bath and Wilts branch. From the supporters club, Mark Stansby said, “The event was very well attended and not just by City fans. There were some great family pictures taken on the night to treasure, mainly by the very helpful and friendly trophy security team. Mobile phones being passed around everywhere!
“It’s difficult to put a number on how many came as there was a steady stream of people coming and going, but I would guess at two to three hundred – perhaps more!
“Many thanks to Melksham Town FC for hosting, a perfect venue for the event, and we are grateful to everyone who gave generously to raise money for Manchester City FC’s official charity, City in the Community.”
