A local gaming and pop-culture collectibles shop has closed its doors and relocated to Chippenham due to a rise in running costs.
The Toy Moon, which had been based on Bank Street for the last five years, sells a range of collectible products, including items from Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Nintendo and Warhammer. The shop also ran various Lego clubs and Pokémon events, which will continue at their Chippenham site.
The shop closed in Melksham on 28th February and held a grand opening in Chippenham on Friday 7th March. The owners explained that they relocated because their five-year lease came to an end, and with the rent rising and a low footfall during the week, it became a ‘struggle’ to keep the shop running in Melksham.
Reflecting on their time in Melksham, the owners said, “This has been a difficult and heart-wrenching decision for us to make. We have met so many lovely and amazing people and made some very good friends during our five years.”
Their new address is 1 Club Buildings, Park Lane, Chippenham, SN15 1LP. Details about events at the Chippenham shop will be advertised on Facebook.
