Manchester United legends are coming to town! Melksham Town Football Club will again host the legends for another thrilling match and tickets are now on sale! 
The Legends line-up will include Treble winners Wes Brown and David May; Lee Martin, scorer of the winning goal in the FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace; Premier League winner Chris Eagles and other stars including Russell Beardsmore, goalkeeper Nick Culkin, Danny Webber, Keith Gillespie (capped 86 times for Northern Ireland) , Chris Casper, Derek Brazil and Ben Thornley.
On Sunday 1st August, they will take on a yet to be confirmed Melksham Town XI team, made up of local veterans or players who have played for the club within the last 20 years.
Melksham Town FC says, “Manchester United, who have visited us twice before, will be bringing a much stronger and younger side this time as they look to avenge their previous two losses.
“They will also include two guests in Micky Gray (ex-Sunderland and England) and Lee Hendrie (ex-Aston Villa).
“There will also be the opportunity for three local players to play for their beloved Manchester United. You need to submit your bid to club chairman Darren Perrin on 07855 742960. Anyone can bid to play, any age.
“There will be a shirt auction after the game where some of the profits will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust and Wiltshire Air Ambulance. There are some truly incredible shirts up for auction.
“There will also be videos from the United players leading up to the game for people to see on our social media sites.
“Before the game anyone who has purchased a match day ticket, will be able to attend a Q & A session with David May from 12pm in The Sky Bar.”
Club chairman Darren Perrin added, “It is fantastic and a real coup for the club that these players have agreed to come and play us again, to try and raise some much needed funds for the club and also to support our two chosen charities.
“To see the likes of Wes Brown, Chris Eagles, Keith Gillespie and the special guests is amazing and we urge all the people in Wiltshire and especially Melksham to get your tickets as soon as possible.”
On behalf of the Manchester United Legends team, Russell Beardsmore said, “Our former Manchester United players and two guests are looking forward to coming to Melksham Town FC again to play against a Melksham Town XI on Sunday 1st August.
“We played on two other occasions and were made very welcome by the club and were amazed by the incredible support that Melksham received.
“We have lost the two other games hence why a younger, fitter squad and we will be definitely looking to put the record straight on August 1st. We look forward to seeing you all after quite an horrific year for everyone. Stay safe and well.”
