MELKSHAM’S Business Growth Group (BGG) has announced that in the last 12 months, over £1.3million of business has been passed between members.
The group says that despite national Brexit uncertainty, local business is stronger than ever.
BGG, which meets every Friday morning in Melksham, has been established for six years now and the latest figures are a strong sign of its continued growth. Members range from businesses such as Priority IT, Office Evolution and Embroidery UK, to local trade firms CK Painting and decorating, Renew Flooring and JP Building Contractors. Other industries represented include HR, web design, branding and the care sector.
Members of the group have also raised over £10,000 throughout 2019 for local charities, which have included Priority IT raising £300 for Julian House, a homeless charity based in Bath, as well as £1,200 for Alzheimer’s Support, through a popular computer refurbishment programme. Sound Marketing Group chose Young Melksham as its charity of the year, installing a new audio system into the youth club, as well as decorating one of its social rooms. Employees there also took part in a 24-hour fitness marathon which raised £7,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Newly-elected chair, Helen Llewellyn of The House Keeping Company said, “Our networking group continues to provide a valuable source of work for each other. Not only do we refer business to trusted members that we see week in week out, but we also provide an environment for personal and professional development.
“We’re currently looking for new members to join us so I would encourage anyone who may be interested to take a look at our website and get in touch if they would like to visit.”
