SOMERSET Care staff in Melksham have raised £50 for the British Heart Foundation after holding a ‘Ramp up the Red Day’
The day saw staff wear red clothes to show support for the charity with a donation made by those taking part.
The event is part of the British Heart Foundation’s drive to raise more money and awareness for the charity and was a nationwide event.
Martin Ross, manager at Somerset Care handed over the amount to the British Heart Foundation Devizes branch chair Tony Batchelor. Tony said, “It’s fantastic that Somerset Care has raised this amount and shown support for the cause. We rely heavily on donations, so the importance of fundraising events like this cannot be underestimated. Each year more and more people survive following heart attacks and we want to continue to fund the research that helps make this possible.”
