Melksham exited the FA Trophy against Tavistock 3-1 after a disappointing performance.
Town had a number of injuries and this took its toll in Plymouth. Town found themselves 2-0 behind after 25 minutes but did well to pull one back through Sam Hendy from the penalty spot after 39 minutes. Two minutes later the Tavistock keeper produced a great save from Hendy again.
To be fair though Melksham huffed and puffed, never really threatened an equaliser and Tavistock put the game to bed in the 80th minute with their third goal.
Melksham return to league action on Tuesday against Paulton Rovers, ko 7.45pm at the Oakfield Stadium and then on Saturday travel to Evesham for a 3pm kick off.
On Saturday the Reserves produced an excellent performance despite losing 3-1 to runaway leaders Trowbridge Town in front of over 100 people. The Dev side lost 3-2 at Bromham and the Ladies had a fantastic 9-0 win over Calne Ladies.
