Melksham Town Council is pleased to announce that this year’s Melksham in Bloom gardening competition will go ahead as usual.
The town council report, “Following the success of last year’s competition which was carried out with new Covid-19 safety measures, the competition will return with more categories in 2021, enabling even more people to participate. There are categories for large and small gardens, businesses, residential homes, schools and allotments, as well as a sunflower competition.
“Judging will be in mid to late July, with a date to be announced in the next few weeks. We are grateful to Old Milestone Nursery who have agreed to be a sponsor again this year, and we are looking for additional sponsors so that we can provide prizes for the winners.”
Linda Roberts, town clerk, said, “It is wonderful to be able to run this competition as usual, as we have seen how important gardening has been to people during this unusual time. Melksham has a lot to be proud of, and we are happy to encourage and celebrate the wide range of horticultural skills in our community.”
