EXCITEMENT is building ahead of the first Melksham Makers’ Market of the year; slightly later than planned but better late than never!
Organisers of the market Sarah Hillman and Nicola Coleman are thrilled to have so many local artists and makers joining them for their first market of the year.
Sarah says, “We’ve had a great response from local makers who would like to join us for our first Makers’ Market. We weren’t sure whether any of our markets would go ahead this year, or whether anyone would want to join us, but all of our traders are very keen to get going. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!”
The Makers’ Market will be held in the Melksham Market Place on Saturday 25th July from 9am-2pm, and will showcase a wide variety of local makers and traders.
Nicola says, “We have lots of our regular traders joining us on Saturday as well as some new faces too. There will be huge variety of makes on offer from delicious cakes, doggie treats, hand painted ceramics, craft kits, bespoke wooden gifts, sewn gifts and accessories, papercrafts, cards, honey, watercolour illustrations and much more – all handmade from local makers and artists.”
Sarah and Nicola have been working very closely with Melksham Town Council to ensure the market runs smoothly and meets all Covid-19 requirements.
David McKnight, economic development manager for Melksham Town Council says, “It’s a pleasure to work with the highly professional team who run the Melksham Makers’ Market. Together, we are ensuring the market, when it returns on 25th July, complies with government guidelines, and welcomes visitors who can be confident of a safe shopping environment. The Melksham Maker’s Market, as always, will provide a great shopping experience in Melksham, attract visitors, and deliver a much-needed boost to the town.”
