MELKSHAM Independent News readers have helped to raise over £1,100 for Dorothy House Hospice Care via our family messages column.
The money, totalling £1,146.10, has been collected during 2022 from donations made by readers of Melksham News and our sister papers, White Horse News in Westbury and Frome Times.
Readers are invited to make a charity donation when they run a message in our Family Messages column, with all the money going to Dorothy House. £172.60 has been raised for the charity thanks to cash donations and £973.50 has been raised via online donations made through our JustGiving pages for each newspaper.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of Dorothy House, community and events fundraiser Clare Way said, “It is so heart-warming to receive donations like these, we cannot thank our local community enough. Their continued support means that patients and families, during the most difficult of times, can continue to receive the exceptional personalised care each of us deserves.
“From everyone at Dorothy House, we wish you a very a happy and healthy New Year.”
Melksham News editor Ian Drew said, “Thank you to all our readers who have contributed to this fantastic amount. We are delighted to support Dorothy House who do such important work in the community.”
