MELKSHAM welcomed Pewsey Vale to their second fixture of the season winning 39-7.
The first points came from winger Rory Mulgrew, Connor Randall offloading out of the tackle for 5 points unconverted.
Pewsey fought back but missed a penalty to get them on the score board. On the restart the ball went out wide again for Mulgrew to take his second. The score remained 10-0 at half time.
In the second half Melksham started to ease away from the visitors, Phil Stone with an evasive run through the centre passing to Phil Williams for an unconverted try. Pewsey continued to battle on with a kick and chase to the Melksham line, ending with Randall gathering the ball and breaking from under the posts, passing to Adam Davies and onto Callum Hurn to score an end to end try.
Melksham were now in control and scored again from Adam Davies going in for five more points the score 25-0.
Melksham were to score again twice with players coming off the bench for Rob Thorne with an intercepted pass and Josh Osak scoring in his first game for the team. Both conversions made by man of the match Simon Foster.
Pewsey were determined throughout and were finally rewarded in the last minutes of the game with their winger going in for a try duly converted. Final score 39-7.
