THE annual Melksham Rugby Club awards night took place on Saturday 13th May, celebrating the success of the club’s senior teams.
Awards were presented for the men’s first and second team, the senior men’s and ladies’ teams and the mixed ability team.
Chair of Melksham Rugby Club Mark Simmons said, “The annual Melksham Senior Rugby Awards was a very successful night. A big thank you to all involved in organising this year’s event. It was great to see so many happy faces enjoying the evening and celebrating the successful season had by all teams and award winners.”
The awards made were:
Senior Ladies’ Team: Players’ Player, Kirsty Compton; Coach’s Player, Paige Walters; Supporters’ Player, Candice Walters; Most Improved, Ellie Whittard.
Senior Men’s 1st XV: Players’ Player, Sam Norris; Captain’s Player, Lewie Simmons; Young Player, Jay Fernadez; Breakthrough Player, Matt Stennar; Top Try Scorer, Jack Tunney; Top Point Scorer, Rob Bailey.
Senior Men’s 2nd team: Players’ Player, Aaron Hall; Captain’s Player, Brad Wilkins.
Mixed Ability: Players’ Player, Craig Spittal; Coach’s Player, Steve Reeves; Kerfoot Spirit of the Stag, Richard Porter.
