Melksham RFC Under 9s team has returned victorious from a recent rugby festival hosted by London Irish.
Team manager, Lisa Lynch, explains, “Melksham RFC Under 9s team were invited to attend a St Patrick’s Festival at London Irish, Reading. As well as gaining lots of experience and lifetime memories, the team won the Fair Play Award, beating 15 other teams to the award.
“It was a very proud and emotional day for the coaches to see all the hard work and determination from the squad all come together and see the team play with heart and passion, playing for their club and for each other. For the team and club this is a huge reward for their efforts performed against a high standard of rugby. Well done to all that put their heart and soul into the day and did Melksham RFC proud.”
A spokesperson from London Irish commented, “Your team were a pleasure throughout the day. You received not just glowing compliments from our coaches/referees but also from other teams and their coaches. Keep up the great work!”
