TWO shops in the Littlebrook Centre are hoping to use the World Cup fever sweeping Melksham to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Honeys and Candy Jax sweet shop have organised a world cup prediction game where each day a chosen match has a shop supporting one of the sides. On the opening day of the World Cup, Candy Jax supported Brazil whilst Honeys was supporting Croatia. As Brazil won, it meant that any purchases on that day from Candy Jax come with a voucher for 10% off any future purchases in either shop whilst the World Cup is still going on. The proceeds are to go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
A World Cup sweepstake has also taken place with 50% of the money raised also going to the air ambulance charity.
Candy Jax owner Jacs Brady said, “We wanted to make the most of people being so excited about the World Cup and use it to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance which is a fantastic cause.
“We hope to raise as much as possible and hope the prediction game will be as well supported as the sweepstake as that sold out so quickly.”
