Melksham will host a weekend of comedy featuring nationally recognised comedians as part of a new arts festival this September.
The Sham Jam Comedy Weekend will take place in a marquee at King George V Playing Fields on 19th and 20th September, bringing a line-up of established comedians to the town for the first time.
The weekend will be headlined by Angelos Epithemiou and Mark Watson, with performers including Britain’s Got Talent finalist Robert White, Lloyd Griffith, Mark Simmons and Crissy Rocks also taking to the stage.
Angelos Epithemiou, the character created and performed by comedian Dan Renton Skinner, has appeared in comedy programmes including My Family, Shooting Stars, Friday Night Dinner and Not Going Out.

Mark Watson is known for his observational comedy and ambitious live shows, including marathon performances for Comic Relief, while Mark Simmons won ‘Funniest Joke of the Fringe’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024.
The event will also feature Stephen Bailey, Jules O’Brian, Kate Penfield, Phil Ellis, Matt Richardson, Yuriko Kotani and Susan Murray.
The comedy weekend forms part of The Sham Jam Festival, a town-wide celebration of local arts and talent taking place across Melksham from 18th to 27th September.

Cllr Jennie Westbrook said, “It’s incredibly exciting that the very first Sham Jam Festival is launching with such a fantastic line-up. To welcome such talented acts to Melksham for the festival’s debut is a real testament to the ambition behind the event. I hope people from across Melksham and beyond come along to enjoy a week full of laughter, discover everything the festival has to offer, and help make this the start of something truly special for our town.”
General admission day tickets will cost £25. Weekend tickets and VIP options will also be available.
