A new financial wellness hub for unpaid carers is launching in Melksham, offering free advice and support.
The Financial Wellness Hub is run by Carer Support Wiltshire and provides services including energy saving and debt advice, financial debt management and employment support.
These monthly informal, community-based drop-in sessions will provide an opportunity to meet face-to-face with our Carer Money Matters team and receive personalised advice and support.
The services provided include:
Energy Saving and Debt Advice: Get on the Priority Services Register with your supplier for extra support like meter readings, advance warnings of supply interruptions and tips on saving on cooking and heating. You will be given practical ways to reduce your energy bills tailored to your specific needs.
Financial and Debt Management: The team can discuss other money matters too, whether for you or those you care for, helping you access the support needed to manage money and reduce debt.
Employment Support: Understand how to balance work and caring responsibilities with help in interview practice, job searching and CV preparation.
The next session will run at ‘that meeting space,’ 31a Market Place, SN12 6ES, on the second Wednesday of the month, starting on Wednesday 12th March from 10am to 2pm.
No registration is required; just drop in. “Our team is eager to assist you with your financial concerns, allowing you to focus on caring for your loved ones with peace of mind,” says a spokesperson for Carer Support Wiltshire.
