Local people are being offered coffee and healing prayers from local Christian healers at a newly launched Healing Cafe at that meeting space.
The team were swamped with visitors at the café’s recent debut morning of healing prayer. Organisers report that many received healing and pain reduction.
Organiser Nancy Millard said, “Painful shoulder pain disappeared; a man’s leg pain reduced from unmanageable levels of ‘ten’ to a barely there ‘two’; a drug addict left seeking the local Melksham AA; a lady helping in the kitchen and living with constant hip pain was amazed to see she could stand for hours pain-free; chesty coughs were relieved and many talked of peace in the room.
“None of it surprised the healing team who are used to praying in the name of Jesus across Melksham, Bath, Bristol and neighbouring villages.”
That meeting space, based in the Market Place, will now host a monthly café of coffee, hand-made cakes and healing prayer for visitors on the first Monday of every month.
The next event is Monday 3rd March. Nancy attends GoodNews Church in Melksham and is part of a Christian healing team, Healing on the Streets (HOTS Bath). The team have been carrying out street healings – often outside Bath Abbey for many years.
The team also offers healing prayer on Tuesdays mornings at the Forum Life Church café in Bath.
The team points out that they believe in and have experienced God’s healing. However, they make no guarantees and that healing prayer does not replace any medical attention or medication, saying, “Under no circumstances should you stop doing anything a medical professional or counsellor has advised.”
