A number of Melksham residents recently opened their gardens to support The Children’s Society
Trish Gater, on behalf of Melksham Children’s Society Open Gardens said, “Very many thanks to the 12 families who opened their gardens recently to raise funds for The Children’s Society.
“Thanks too, to the stalwart visitors who turned out on a very wet Sunday to help our small committee raise approximately £700. Some came from as far as Dorset to see these amazing gardens.
“An incredible result as part of the sum raised was at the cream teas in Place House garden. Cream teas, gardens and rain wouldn’t normally be the perfect match but it was a really jolly day and Celia and Jackie did a cracking job of manning a stall of books, puzzles and plants.
“Thanks to all who supported that too, and to our menfolk who we couldn’t manage without. See you all again at our next event.”
