DURING a week in May, 102 of the children at Daisychain Nursery in Whitley took part in a week of sponsored walks and baking to raise money for ‘Save The Children’.
Nursery staff said, “We were prepared for wet weather but were extremely lucky for the entire week, however the sunny days didn’t help with splashing in muddy puddles – we found one which decreased in size and ‘muddiness’ as the week went on! It was nice to have so many parents and grandparents join us throughout the week.
“When the children weren’t walking they were baking lots of lovely cakes and biscuits for their parents to buy when they came to nursery at the end of the day.
“Guess the number of dolly mixtures in a jar produced some interesting guesses ranging from 106 to 587.
“We have raised a staggering £1,155.80 for Save The Children thanks to some very generous families, friends and Gompels of Melksham.”
