A COMMUNITY messaging scheme from Wiltshire Police has been launched in Melksham.
Local officers and Wiltshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson, were in Sainsbury’s last week to launch the service that allows members of the public to sign up for free messages – by email, text and voicemail – about policing and crime matters in the area.
Commissioner Angus Macpherson and Wiltshire Police are trying to involve communities in the prevention and reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour. Working alongside Neighbourhood Watch, Wiltshire Community Messaging aims to improve the flow of information between communities and the police. Please note Wiltshire Community Messaging is NOT monitored 24 hours a day. Always call 999 in an emergency or 101 in a non-emergency.
