PUPILS from Forest and Sandridge School have been helping to spread festive joy to children in Romania.
Deputy headteacher, Helen Biles-Wood said, “We were delighted to welcome Phil and Anthea Courage to school to help them put together shoeboxes to send to Romania.
“Parents, children and staff bought in a range of items such as stationery, toiletries, sweets and much more to put into boxes to send to Romania this Christmas. A total of 34 boxes were made, which is a new record for us!
“In total 300 shoeboxes were prepared to be sent to the children. This will put a smile on the faces of a lot of Romanian children and families.
“We are very proud of the children who supported this. The children, once again, demonstrated our school values and their compassion for others.”
Phil and Anthea said, “The children were brilliant – especially the year 5 helpers. They were polite, organised and very efficient.”
