LOCAL MP Michelle Donelan was welcomed to Shaw Church of England Primary School where pupils quizzed her about life in Parliament.
Principal of the school, Thomas Brewer said, “We were delighted to welcome Michelle Donelan MP into our school today where she talked to our year 6 children about being a Member of Parliament. The children asked such deep questions and listened attentively to her answers for the whole hour.
“In light of our recent good Ofsted we were particularly pleased that Michelle chose to come and visit our school as our staff, children and parents are so proud of all we have achieved here and the wonderful learning atmosphere that means our school buzzes every day.
“Sport activities have increased in the last few months as children are now accessing a number of sports such as netball, football and lacrosse, where we have an England lacrosse coach sharing his knowledge with our children!
“We’ve also begun car club, where children are volunteering to check staff members’ cars under bonnet and producing Shaw MOT certificates after checking oil, windscreen wash and tyres before washing the cars in their overalls during their lunch break!
“So, if you’ve not been to Shaw, come and see us and if you’d like to volunteer or join our team, get in contact with the school office.”
