Now in its 75th year BBC Radio 4’s flagship political panel programme Any Questions? is broadcasting from Melksham Assembly Hall for the first time on Friday 14th July.
The programme is presented by BBC political correspondent Alex Forsyth, pictured, and broadcasts from a different location around the UK each week.
Questions are posed by the audience to a panel made up of personalities from the world of politics, media and beyond. One of the most stringent and unchanging rules of the show is that the panel never sees the questions in advance – they hear the questions for the first time at the same moment as the audience in the room and at home, so audience members are encouraged to come prepared with questions to submit to the production team on the night. If your question is chosen, you’ll need to read this out on air.
Deputy facilities manager at the Assembly Hall, Kevin Farrow said, “We’re incredibly excited to be hosting this prestigious show, which is broadcast live to over 1.5 million listeners every week.”
Entry is free, but tickets must be booked in advance. Doors will be open from 6.30pm until 7.15pm, when all audience members must be seated. No-one will be admitted after 7.15pm. There is an audience warm-up before the live broadcast starts at 8pm.
