The second running of the Melksham 10K will take place on Sunday 14th September.
Last year’s event saw nearly 200 runners tackle the flat and certified accurate 10-kilometre course around the town, which was won by Simon Nott of Calne in a time of 31-minutes 30-seconds, the fastest time for the distance recorded in Wiltshire during 2013.
This year has seen a few tweaks being made to the two-lap course which starts in Lowbourne Road and takes in Sandridge Road, Blackmore Road, Queensway and Snowberry Lane that should lend itself to even faster times throughout the field.
Prizes are on offer to the first three runners to cross the finishing line and to the leading runners in the V40, V50 and V60 age categories. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal of the event.
More information including details of online entry are can be found at www.stampedesports.co.uk and entries on the day will be taken up until 9.30am at the race HQ in the Adventure Centre.
