Give your wardrobe a new look at this month’s Clothes Swap at the Melksham Assembly Hall. Hosted by the Melksham Community Larder, the event allows residents to exchange clean, unwanted clothes instead of buying new ones.
“Clothes swaps are more than just a way to refresh your wardrobe, they are a fantastic step towards sustainable fashion and building a stronger, eco-conscious community,” explained one of the organisers, Adrienne Westbrook. By clothes swapping, you are reducing waste and giving those items a new life with someone who will love them just as much.” This is the second clothes swap the team at the Melksham Community Larder has held, following a successful ‘swap’ in March which saw a strong turnout from local residents.
“Over the next few weeks, we’re inviting everyone to start going through their cupboards, collecting those quality pieces that no longer spark joy and preparing them for the swap,” says Adrienne. “Every item counts towards making a positive impact.”
The event is due to be held at the Melksham Assembly Hall on Sunday 29th September, from 12pm to 2pm. Clothing items can be dropped off at the Assembly Hall prior to the event, from Wednesday 25th September to Friday 27th September, between 10am and 12pm. Items need to be of good quality and on hangers. No black bags will be accepted. For every item handed in, people will receive a token to pick something new at the event.
