THE consultation, announced by the Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), on the future of birthing units in the area is asking for your say.
The CCG has proposed that mothers will no longer be able to give birth at Trowbridge Hospital, having to go further afield to Chippenham, Bath, Swindon or Salisbury, with Trowbridge only providing pre and post-natal services.
The Wiltshire CCG is asking for public opinion on the proposals before the end of the consultation period, which ends on 24th February. Then a decision will be made on the future of births at Trowbridge Hospital by the spring. More information can be found on the website: www.transforming maternity.org.uk
The Wiltshire CCG said, “Our proposal is just that, a proposal, and no decision has been made.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible, whether you agree or disagree with our proposal or if you have other ideas to help us meet the challenges we face. Melksham residents can come along on Monday 14th January, from 11.00am – 1.00pm at Melksham Town Hall.
“Come along, find out more and have your questions answered. Please let us know if you are planning on attending maternity. transformationBSW @nhs .net.”
