LOCAL road racers have been competing in the area recently, as the N G Road Race championship nears the end of the season.
The penultimate round of the N G Road race championships was held at Anglesey, where and Broughton Gifford’s Darrell Higgins notched his best result of the weekend
when he finished in tenth place in Saturday’s National ACU 250cc Championship race on his Dennis Trollope backed TZ 250cc Yamaha.
Meanwhile Melksham novice jacket racer, Mark Birkett, notched up a pair of 11th places in his two pre-injection 700cc street stock races on his Honda CBR 600.
Mark is currently seventh in the championship and only three points away from Andrew Horne who is in fifth place in this season’s standings, with the final round of this season’s championship at Pembrey in Wales in September.
