BMCC asked their visitors to bat and must have regretted the decision as all the batsmen were relatively untroubled throughout Urchfont’s innings.
Williams (10) was first to go with the score on 31, which brought Cupid to the crease. He put on 54 with D. Bottomley before being caught in the deep.
Bottomley was playing with patience while setting the foundations for the big hitters to follow.
Bottomley and Munro (32) then added 67 for the 3rd wicket before the fireworks really started.
Marlon Simon joined Bottomley and together they added 123 in 10 overs of brutal hitting. Simon finished on 77* off 39 balls while Bottomley carried his bat for 90* as Urchfont’s innings closed on 275/3 off 45 overs.
BMCC knew they were up against it in chasing their target as Urchfont’s attack contains probably the best and certainly the quickest bowler in the league.
Marlon Simon tore through the batting taking 7 for 26 in 12 pacey overs. This included 6 wickets in 12 balls. The home innings crumbled under this assault as they were blown away for 64.
