DISBARRED former Conservative Police & Crime Commissioner candidate, Jonathon Seed, has a second motoring conviction, it has been revealed.
Jonathon Seed, who won the May election, but was not allowed to take up office because of a historic drink driving offence, also has a conviction for failing to stop. An investigation by ITV uncovered a second conviction against Jonathon Seed for failing to stop, while looking through court records.
Jonathon Seed told ITV, “Thames Valley Police (TVP) have investigated all allegations which include the two historic driving convictions you have referred to and evidence of my declarations regarding these to the Conservative Party.
“I have fully cooperated with TVP as part of their investigation. Given the investigation is ongoing it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment at this time.”
Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation into the elections and has confirmed that it has sought the advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said, “The investigation is ongoing and we are not in a position to provide further comment at this time.”
Swindon and Wiltshire will go back to the polls on 19th August to elect its new Police & Crime Commissioner.
