The Semington Slog 10k and Fun Run is back for its third year in May.
Friends of St George’s Primary School will hold the popular event on Saturday 6th May to raise money towards improving the school. Last year’s money was used to develop the outside learning spaces at the school.
The race starts at St George’s School in Semington and incorporates the canal path, quiet roads and bridleway. There is also a Fun Run to encourage all the younger runners to join in and have a go, which can be entered on the day. DB Max will be organising the timing with time print outs for all runners.
Helen Biles-Wood, acting head at St George’s said, “We are delighted that this successful event is taking place again this year. It is fantastic that it brings all the community together to support the school and the runners.
“Although we are a small school we want to provide the very best for all of the children. With the help of the Friends of St George’s and the money raised we can continue to provide further opportunities for the children.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive. I am looking forward to supporting all the children and runners as part of this exciting event!”
John Adams, one of the race organisers said, “We are thoroughly looking forward to this years event. The atmosphere on the day is always brilliant, with lots of people coming to support family and friends.”
The event sold out in the weeks leading up to the race last year, so runners are encouraged to sign up early online at www.entry central.com/semingtonslog. To find out more visit the Semington Slog Facebook page or email semingtonslog@gmail.com.
