MELKSHAM Seniors 55+ Forum will be showing What a Girl Wants on Monday 18th November at Melksham Assembly Hall.
On a whim, American teenager Daphne (Amanda Bynes) boards a plane to England to find the father she never met. Upon arriving there, though, she makes a startling discovery; the man she’s looking for is Lord Henry Dashwood (Colin Firth), a member of the British upper class, who is running for political office. Lord Henry didn’t know Daphne existed, but he welcomes her into his life. However, she isn’t so sure – and his family and his current betrothed look on her disapprovingly.
Doors open at 1.30pm.
The Seniors 55+ Forum host weekly Thursday morning meetings at the Riverside Club and monthly meetings at the Forest Community Centre.
The group secretary reports, “We are an organisation run by Senior volunteers for the benefit of all residents of Melksham and district area over 55. We need your input and help! Tell us what activities you would like to see offered by the club. What are you interested in? What in your daily life concerns you or do you need help with? “Our Socialise ‘n Shop programme is doing well, with new members and new businesses signing up. So, if you would like the benefits of discounts from local shops, please sign up for an ID card. We meet at the Riverside Club every Thursday morning from 10.30am ‘til 12.30pm and have a varied programme of events. Come along and tell us what you would like to do. Forms will be available for you to let us know your suggestions. Refreshments provided.
