PUPILS at King’s Park Primary School returned from half-term to find a newly-renovated sensory garden for them to enjoy.
The garden was completely re-designed by a group of parents who come together to create an outdoor space where children could learn.
The team of parents worked tirelessly throughout the stormy weather during half-term to create an area that is child friendly. The renovation was kept a secret from the children who were unaware of the transformation going on right outside their classroom.
The parents who were in attendance for the big unveiling were pleased with the children’s reaction. Kylie Bewley whose son Da’ud attends the school said, “It is great to see them all enjoying the garden. They look amazed at what they are seeing. It is completely unrecognisable from what was here before and it’s great to see all the hard work pay off!”
Parent Jo Gruenegan, was also part of the team and she was pleased to see the garden in all its glory. She said, “It’s fantastic to see the garden looking like this. It will be a valuable space for the children to grow and learn together, The kids absolutely love it.”
The items used in renovating the sensory garden were all donated by local businesses. These include Avon Rubber, the Refa Tandoori, and Superior in Bowerhill.
