Melksham Rock ‘n’ Rollers are delighted to be welcoming The Showdown, a night dedicated to the music of Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, to Melksham Assembly Hall on Friday 30th August.
In the show, the two legends go head-to-head, looking to prove once and for all who deserves to take the throne as the true king of rock ‘n’ roll in a tribute night not to be missed.
Dave B, who assumes the guise of Elvis, has been performing opposite Peter Gill’s Jerry Lee Lewis for many years now and has built up a formidable reputation for the show, and Melksham Rock ‘n’ Rollers felt it was about time they stopped by to put on a display in the town.
Organiser Jason Reeves said, “A few of us went along to see the show in Bath last year. The performance was excellent, but we were a little disappointed with how little room there was to dance, so we thought we must get them down to Melksham where there wil be plenty of space to move around.”
Anyone attending can expect to hear all of the hits from Elvis and Jerry Lee alike, including Hound Dog, All Shook Up and Great Balls of Fire plus many more. Not only are the performances of the two frontmen packed with energy, but both are backed by a cast of stellar musicians in The Buddy Presley Band.
There has been a definite buzz around the club in the lead-up to this event, with ticket sales rolling along steadily and likely to increase over the coming weeks.
Melksham Rock ‘n’ Rollers not only have this to look forward to this summer but a whole host of other events, monthly live bands and weekly dance classes held in Broughton Gifford Village Hall.
