At a meeting of Melksham Town Council held earlier this month it was agreed to set the precept (the proportion of council tax payable to the town council) at a figure of £384,930.
This means that the precept of a Band D property will be £87.82 per year, an increase of 95 pence per year or just less than 8 pence per month.
This small increase enables the Town Council to present a balanced budget in line with the levels of expenditure and income anticipated and will allow the Town Council to operate effectively and continue to provide the current range of services and activities for the community.
