THE original dog run in King George V playing field is be kept open for smaller, shy and nervous dogs.
The enclosed dog run – which is located adjacent to the Waitrose car park, near the skate park – will be kept open until there is a ‘viable funded alternative use’ for the plot of land.
It will complement the new and much larger ‘dog bark’ that was opened in September on the site of the former King George V play area.
The idea to keep the dog run open was proposed by cllr Sue Mortimer, who explained that the area is still used daily by dog owners who prefer the smaller space for their dogs that are smaller, shy or nervous.
