MELKSHAM Town Football Club’s youth section has been given a helping hand by local fast food restaurant, McDonald’s.
The popular takeaway restaurant, located on Beanacre Road, has donated a variety of football training equipment to support the club train the next generation of football stars.
Melksham Town FC’s youth chairman, Adam Young, told Melksham News, “We’re massively grateful to McDonald’s for helping us with this training equipment – we’ve got over 400 kids, 35 teams; we couldn’t do this without their support and we thank them very much.”
Melksham Town FC’s chairman, Darren Perrin, added, “We’re delighted at Melksham Town Football Club to partner with McDonald’s – it’s fantastic to build this local relationship and we hope it goes from strength to strength.”
McDonald’s franchisee Mike Guerin said, “As a local franchisee it is great to support local clubs – and this is a singularly impressive club, the facilities are great! The community involvement here is outstanding and we are very pleased to link up with the club.
“McDonald’s has a tradition of supporting community football – McDonald’s sponsored the FA community Shield last weekend [Leicester City against Manchester City] – so this is making it work in the community as well as making it work at Wembley!”
