When the Christmas lights are switched on, the Art House Café will remain open until the early evening on Saturday 6th December.
The Rotary Club has decided that all the takings for that day, including the street collection by Rotarians, will be donated to the Salisbury-based charity, Hope and Homes for Children. The club has supported the charity for many years, as have Stonar School, and it was set up to ensure that in eastern Europe and now in Africa, children should be placed in families rather than being forgotten in overcrowded homes. Their latest venture has the assurance that all the money they collect will be doubled, provided it is paid in by mid-December. The club is hoping that such a worthy cause will receive the full support of the Melksham community on 6th December.
