St. George’s Primary School in Semington has permanently appointed Gordon Campbell as their headteacher.
The 42-year-old father of two has been on a secondment to the school since earlier this year and was due to leave the post in August. However, the school governors have decided to permanently appoint him.
Headteacher Gordon Campbell has a wealth of experience having taught in schools across Wiltshire, including Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon for 15 years, before taking on his first full-time headship in Semington.
He said, “Since coming to St George’s I have found the community to be very caring and I’m looking forward to continuing to encourage our children to have high expectations of themselves, both now and on into the future.
“I can already say with some confidence that the school is blessed with a great staff team who have the interests of the children as their first priority. It is a pleasure to be part of the community and I look forward to developing relationships with you all to the benefit of our children and the community as a whole.
“Thank you for all the messages of congratulations I have received following the confirmation that the governors have offered me the privilege of leading the school into the future on a permanent basis from September.”
