Stall holders needed for spring fayre

BLENHEIM House Care Home is looking for those who would like to have a stall at their Spring Fayre.

The fayre will take place on Saturday 9th April from 2-4pm to raise money to help finance activities for the dementia unit.

Stalls cost £5. If you are interested please contact Louise activities.blenheimhouse@majesticare.co.uk

  • Live music series to return next year after summer success A free live music programme will return to Melksham next year after attracting large crowds to the town centre throughout its 2026 season. Friday Light Live, held in the Market Place on the final Friday of each month, has now ended for the winter after its final event formed part of the Sham Jam Festival in September. This year’s programme featured performances from Frome Street Bandits, David Toya, Wade Merritt and Joe Robinson, with each event bringing live music and entertainment to the Market Place.   • Community larder seeks volunteers More volunteers are being sought to help tackle food waste and support a community food project in Melksham. Melksham Community Larder was set up more than four years ago in response to food waste and has since developed into a local community project. A team of volunteers collects surplus food from local supermarkets and redistributes it through the larder’s shop at the Round House in Melksham, where the food is given away.   • Foodbank begins Christmas appeal Melksham’s Foodbank has begun collecting food and other items to support local people in need this Christmas. The charity provides food parcels to people referred by organisations, and can also provide emergency packages in cases of sudden need.   • Melksham man completes fundraising walk for Parkinson’s charity A Melksham man has raised more than £600 for Parkinson’s UK by completing a 19.69-mile sponsored walk in tribute to his brother and others he knows living with the condition. Richard Collett had originally planned to take part in the Great North Run for the fourth year, but was forced to give up his place because of knee pain, which had also prevented him from training.   • Melksham duo take on 54-mile charity cycle Two Melksham friends have taken on a 54-mile cycle ride from London to Brighton to raise funds for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance. Steve Nicholls and Richard Phillips joined around 6,000 cyclists taking part in the London to Brighton Cycle Ride on Sunday 13th September, raising money for a range of charities.   • Melksham Poppy Appeal calls for volunteers Volunteers are being sought by a local armed forces charity to assist with this year’s Poppy Appeal campaign. Organisers from the Melksham Branch of the Royal British Legion are hoping to have tables in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Lidl stores from 26th October to 7th November, depending on the number of volunteers available.
