LOCAL teacher of performing arts, Lorraine Mahoney from Semington put on a well-attended showcase for pupils at Spencer’s Sport & Social Club in Melksham last month.
The dance teacher, who is also a choir conductor and singer said, “ I put all my efforts into giving my pupils the chance to show their families and friends what they have been working on over the last few months.”
The showcase demonstrated all the different aspects of West Wiltshire School for Performing Arts, which included performances from Lorraine’s Saturday morning Musical Theatre classes, her Glee Club, her ladies Tap Group and her Street Fit class.
WWSPA is assisted by Sarah-Jane Adlington, who, as well as helping with the show, also performed.
Lorraine said, “The support for the show was overwhelming. An abundance of raffle prizes were donated and a local Zumba class came along to do a demonstration.
“The support from the local residents was shown through the sheer number of tickets that were sold. I can’t believe how many people turned up to watch. It makes the last few weeks of hard work worth it.
“All the performers are so passionate about what they do and it was so rewarding to see them all go up there and enjoy themselves, whilst doing something they love for the ones they love. A great evening.”
