A TEENAGER from Atworth played non-stop golf for 25 hours at Whitley Golf Club raising over £800 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Carer Support Wiltshire.
13 year-old Jamie Davis started the mammoth sporting challenge at 4.30pm on Friday and finished on Saturday evening at 6pm. In that time he played 135 golf holes, almost eight complete rounds.
Jamie said, “Thanks everybody so much for the donations; I really appreciate it. I wouldn’t of done this very, very hard challenge if it wasn’t for Kevan Mallan, Karen and Stuart Bryant, Chris Suter, Ian Firman, Neil Bettridge and last but not least my mum Sharon Davis, my grand mum and my auntie Debbie Thomas for their amazing paella! I would also like to thank everyone who played with me during the 25 hours.
“I’m so happy I completed the challenge and I really wanted to do more if I’m honest but nobody would let me! I have a target to try to beat next year now though!”
Jamie, who is the junior captain at the golf club, was partnered by former club captain Kevan Mallan who also completed 24 hours of golf last year for charity.
At the club’s recent charity dinner evening, £3,000 was donated to Carer Support Wiltshire and £3,065 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance which brings the club’s total contribution to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance to £10,000.
