AFTER growing her hair for six years, Melksham teenager Rosie Paines has had it chopped off for charity.
Rosie has donated 12 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have lost their own hair through illness.
Rosie said, “The last time I had my hair properly cut was when I was 10 years-old. I’ve been finding it quite annoying for a while now, but I didn’t want to just throw my hair away. I did some research and felt donating my hair to The Little Princess Trust was the right thing to do.”
Rosie’s mum Amanda said, “I was very surprised when she told me that she wanted to have her hair cut but very proud that she wanted to donate it to charity. Glow Hairdressers in Melksham said they would cut Rosie’s hair for free which is very kind of them.”
Rosie continued, “It was a big shock when it was cut but I love it! It’s a lot lighter now as well.
“I have also raised £270 so far for the charity which will go towards making another wig.”
