A LOCAL man recently sung the praises of the Melksham care home that looked after his late mother so well.
James Martin, whose mother Kate was a resident at Brookside on Ruskin Avenue, described the service they received as fantastic.
James said, “There is often a lot of bad news about care homes in the press so I think it’s important that people see the good side as well.
“Taking my mum to Brookside was the best thing I ever did. She loved it there, got on terrifically with the staff, and called it her home.
“I can’t thank the staff enough for their professionalism, kindness, and caring nature, and the compassion they showed when looking after mum. They adapted quickly when new oxygen machinery was needed, and welcomed her back from hospital.
“Brookside did a fantastic job of looking after mum for over two years, and they were always courteous to me, then affectionate when she died; some of the staff will be attending the funeral as well.”
Brookside is a care home run by the Order of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) and offers care for the elderly and those with dementia.
